we had a more relaxing day today. not all the christmas stuff is put away, but i have made a good start. i had two meetings tonight at church. one was preparation for wednesday night womens class. the minister's wives are teaching it. my roll is to teach about wives and leaders. i didn't ask for those. to tell you the truth, i am a little nervous about being responsible for those two topics. i am the youngest wife of all the wives and have not had much leadership duties since my move to prcc. we'll see. i took the kids to my favorite restaurant tonight. la madelines!!! a metroplex gem! the hot chicken parisian is my favorite and i can't bring myself to order anything else there. it is absloutely amazing. crysty kimberlin (our youth minister) and i are in charge of planning the personal workshops for the retreat. it is going to be fun. they are 45 min. sessions of personal reflection and/or development with God. the theme is sisterhood of the traveling faith. cute and catchy. we are going to have one room for individualized prayer excercises, one with and experietial prayer walk of sorts, and one where we will do and exercise adapted from beth moore's "believing god" study, where you take your age and divide it by five and look at each fifth of your life and what happened during that portion of your life. where was god in it and how can you see his work in hindsight. its sort of a "you have to know where you've been to know where you are going" exercise. should be insightful. when i did this i was amazed at how seasons of my life god was trying to show me different things and some things were always present! it should be fun. our retreat is second weekend of february. we are beginning to get a busy weekend together. firday night our small group is getting together. saturday morning we are going to paint the toddler room at church. sunday there is achildrens ministry think tank meeting. and sunday night we are hosting the praise team here for dinner and planning for 2006. all fun but i still have a lot to do on the house. got to get that christmas stuff all put away. speaking of which, i better get to it again. love you all,
summer
isaiah 40: 28-31
"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

I see your energy level has come up a bit...I am tired just reading it all. I hope you tackled your Christmas stuff, but don't worry if you did not...the 12 days of Christmas lasts until the Epiphany which is January 6th. (Tomorrow!)
