well, today is monday. for most that means back the duldrums of the week. for us, it is our day of rest. it is also catchup day from the weekend. bret goes to work and we usually take it easy. sundays for our family are different than for most families. we like sundays, but it is not the day the family shares in worship like others do. bret is "on" sunday morning from 7-12. we don't get ready together, go to church together, or even sit together. he is working and we are attending. we have to find other ways to get our spiritual cups filled. sometimes its hard, but it really just means that we have to be very intentional about doing so. bret and i have gotten very intentional about doing a couple devotional time together most days. we have never been very good at this, but we have been able to commit to it alot better recently. God is so good and He can fill in many different ways when we ask Him for it. (i always try to capitalize the letters that signify God. i feel like i should make the extra effort when typing His name, ha ha. i'm sure he thinks that's funny. )
on a different note, we went to six flags last night with the kids and sunday night is definitely a great time to go. there were no lines at all and once the sun starts to go down it is very nice out. micah wore his scooby doo shoes and was exactly 42 inches tall, which enabled him to ride several of the non kiddy rides. he had a BLAST. so did the rest of us. rebekah only slept about ten minutes but just couldn't miss all the beautiful lights. we got home about 10:30. i caught something in the air while we were out and my allergies are all to pieces. i'm going to take some benedryl before i go to bed. i just couldn't take anything until it was safe to go to bed. we had a wonderful weekend. hope you all didd as well.
love you all,
summer
isaiah 40: 28-31
"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
