the couch arrived this morning around 10:00. it is so beautiful. it is missing the center cushion, but it is on order. that's why we got it at such a good price to begin with. it is a bit bigger than we were thinking it would be. it looks like something nicer than people like us should own. i really like it.
the kids and i made binoculars this morning our of paper towel rolls. they colored them and decorated them. i assembled them and put them on one a string. then we went for a nature walk to find things. anna was very ambitious. she picke up every stickand leaf for the whole block. micah only wanted different and interesting things. he found cool rocks, whole(not broken) leaves, a nut of some kind, a stick that looked like a light saboe, and some mistletoe. i was impressed. anna had quite the assortment of leaves and twigs but she got mad at her bag and dumped them all out when we were about 25 steps from home. figures doesn't it. just like them. she grabbed a couple of handfuls of leaves along the way home to throw in real quick. they enjoyed it as did rebekah. she just rode in the front pack and looked at all the world.
i thought i would share an anna story. last night bret played and played with the kids. he got them ready for bed and took them to bed. anna cried and did not want to be in bed. he stayed with her and talked to her, got her all calmed down. he came into the living room and we started watching a movie. about thirty minutes later we thought we heard something so bret went to check on anna. she had gotten up and found some lotion and poured it all over herself and was soaked. we couldn't find the source anywhere. she got in trouble and put back to bed. she went to sleep this time but we were so perplexed at what she could have gotten into. finally when we went to be we found an empty bottle of lotion on my side of the bed and lotion smeared all over the bed. that's a normal anna story. it's tough sometimes to handle her. you think you have everything put up where she cannot get into it and then she finds something else. oh well. guess that's the life of a parent of a two year old.
have a great day,
summer
isaiah 40: 28-31
"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Don't forget that we woke up and found that she had also smeared the lotion on the mirror as well.
