i've posted several pics from our vbs. we have been so busy with it the last week or so we haven't really had time for anything else. it was fun and micah is very disappointed we don't get to go agian tonight, but all good things have to come to an end right?(thank goodness for mommies and daddies, huh?!)
we were going to go swimming yesterday, but "our attitudes kept us from it." as a parent, it was one of the most difficult things i've had to do. we were already ready go which took a really long time to get all the "stuff " together. micah was traumatized, but they were warned of the consequence and continued in the path of misbehavior so i had to stick to my guns. they were told that going swimming was a privilege and not something i had to let them do. thankfully they made much better choices today. it would have been extremely difficult to go through that two days in a row! i guess they learned something from it. it was really nice today because it has been so hot. . the kids love it. it is amazing how comfortable micah is in that pool. i have to keep anna from stealing all the other kids toys, but all in all we really love going. afterwards we went to chick fil a for lunch with bret. that is our favorite lunch place. we go at least once a week. i meant to take pictures while at the pool so i could post some, but it is almost impossible to do anything else at the pool with your hands when you have three little ones to hold on to and watch closely! maybe i will get to sometime before the end of summer.
lesli and ryan made supper for us last night. it was enchiladas(sp?). they were wonderful. micah and anna liked them and everyone ate seconds. of course they (ryan and lesli) were not happy with how they turned out, but i think that's just a rule when cooking for others. you're never satisfied with the turnout even it it is delicious. anyway, thanks, ryan and lesli for supper. it was scrumptious enough for everyone to go back for seconds!
bekah has officially learned to roll over forwards and backwards. she acts so proud of herself. it is such an accomplishment when you've been stuck like a turtle on it's shell all your life. i can't believe how fast she is growing! she is even sitting up (like a frog) by herself. she is doing all this at 4 1/2 months, much earlier than micah or anna. and she reached to bret for the first time today. he melted like butter!
i had a wonderful birthday tuesday. my sweet husband took me to six flags (something i wanted to do last summer but couldn't because we found out the day before that i was pregnant!) we rode everything we wanted and some things up to 3 times and it only took us a little over 2 hours. we left and came home to have lunch with the office staff. that was so sweet of them to celebrate my birthday with me. john and crysty took care of the kids before and after childcare at church so we could get there when the park opened. they met us at fudruckers with the kids for my birthday lunch. it was a great day! mom sent me some money in a (very hilarious) card. i plan on "trying" to find a bathing suit. we'll see how that goes.
bret sang with the vm on the radio this morning at 6:45 am and was showcased on the news (i think). i never could find the right station and never saw it on the morning news but we left for the pool before morning news was officially over, maybe it will be on tonight. he is really "moving on up" in the vm world. he's loving it and i'm so proud of him.
i love you all and hope everything is going well your ways. sorry for the void in posting the last few days. i'll try to stick with it now that we are finished with vbs. take care.
summer
isaiah 40: 28-31
"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
