isaiah 40: 28-31

"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

tee peeing sparkles and #2

well, we have a mostly potty trainied little girl, who decided on her own accord to use the potty over the pull up. for those of you who read my desparate blog entry a month or so ago, you may remember all of my attempts to bribe my child into using the potty. one of the most desparate attempts made was i promised a puppy when she was completely potty trained and no longer needing me to clean up her messes. well let this be a lesson taht children NEVER forget anything. i have been reminded of the puppy bribe and am being held accountable for my word. don't you hate that!!!! now that we are in a peculiar situation, i am not sure how or when we will get a puppy. i think we should wait until we move so i don'thave to worry about potty training another little one while we are trying to sell a house!! i promised apuppy, i didn't pr0mise WHEN we'd get it!

as for the title of this blog entry, you may be wondering what in the world is that supposed to mean? well, it is bekah's code. i general ask her if she needs to go P-- p--. when she was at my friend's house she coerced her to go t-- t--. while bret was working his magic on her he convinced her that when you to the bathroom it sounds like you are making sparkles. so now, she tee pee sparkles quite often. bret doesn't even remember using this terminology with her but she insists he did. i think it is genious. what little girl doesn't love sparkles! anyway, it all worked because she rarely has accidents now and often asks to go to the bathroom.
as for the #2, last thursday we were getting ready to go when i went up to get her from her room. she was "working on one", evidently, and asked me if i would leave so she could hide. i asked her why she wanted to hide. she said it was because she needed to "go." i told her that whether she went in her pullup or in the potty, we were going to the bathroom, and she could hide there if she liked. when we got to the bathroom, she went in the potty for the first time ever!! we celebrated big time. she has gone everyday since then in the potty!!!!

we went to san antonio on a last minute decision with bret this weekend. bret had to go down to rehearse with his quartet as this would be his last opportunity before contest in two weeks. we stayed at an embassy suites and the kids and i had a blast. we swam till annas toes were rubbed with blisters. we grabbed a quick shower and ran down to the hotel restaurant for a pizza. bret and his guys were able to rehearse in one of the conference rooms, so we got to go in and listen to them for a little while. we got to watch t.v. in bed till we fell asleep. we slept in and got to go down stairs for a free made to order breakfast! after that we went to the alamo. it was so awesome. they had a historical reinactments going on in the courtyard. we got lots of pictures. micah starts learning about texas history this week. it was neat for him to see it.

love you all,
s
