isaiah 40: 28-31

"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

resurrection sunday

well i'm thankful it was not as difficult for our Lord to rise on this day as it was for us. we were a bunch of sleepy heads this morning. bret went on without us and the kids and i went in later. we had two services today at 8:30 and 10:45 with no classes but a reception inbetween. it was nice, but i like it best when we all go together. we woke this morning to the sound of little people getting into stuff...or at least that's what we thought it was until bret went to check it out. turns out all of our children were still asleep. after some investigation, bret realizes that it must be some "little friend" in the wall or dryer duct!!! that should really help sell the house!

i love easter. it is one of those times you know the only reason you are celebrating is because we have a God who loves us more than we can ever know and his power exceeds even death. that is so reassuring for me especially now. it doesn't hurt that all the spring flowers are coming out to help us celbrate, too! i found myself singing "he lives" in the shower this morning and i am so glad he does. my daughter was dubbed the resurrection cheerleader this morning because when asked what was special about this day, she jumped to her feet in proper cheerleading victory arm position and said, "Jesus, rose!" it was a sweet enthusiasm.

they were very sweet in their easter duds. the easter bunny brought each of the girls a fancy purse and white gloves. they really enjoyed wearing them to church today and they were the perfect accessories, i must say.

last tuesday the kids and i had a very relaxing day at home. we played lots of games, watched movies and lazed around in general while the rain fell all day long. i taught micah how to play chess and he almost beat me first time at it. he has the same kind of strategy thinking brain as his daddy. he and bret have enjoyed several rounds of it since then as well as one game with papaw.

monday the kids and i went into work with bret and stayed all day. i was tasked with decorating the auditorium for easter. actually i was tasked to set a mood and ambiance with candles and flowers. it turned out beautiful, even if i do say so myself. bret had several positive comments on it this morning.

wednesday we traveled to montgomery on a spring break scouting event. we are not quite ready to purchase or rent anything, but we benefited greatly from looking at different subdivisions and housing posibilities. we at least know where we do not want to live and where to look when it is time. that time is coming up very soon. i have only four days of full time work left. they will problably let me sub some until we leave, which will be nice. it looks like our best move time will be around may 1st. that is coming up very soon. i have to really get on the ball this week. i am hoping to have a yard sale the the second weekend in april, so please come by to help relieve us of some of our junk.

we mostly benefitted in our trip to montgomery by being with the people we will soon be working with there. they are so down to earth and loving. it will be a fun place to work i am sure. my kids already love it. we also go to spend a few hours with my parents who made a last minute diecision to come down to be with us friday. they left friday at noon and were with us by 4 pm. we showed them all around montgomery, had dinner, swam in the pool and slept solid. we enjoyed breakfast together the next morning beofre we all headed for home. it will be sooooo nice to be close enough for that to be reality most any weekend.

we had a great fun afternoon with our neighbors and friends today. our kids had an easter egg hunt between our two front yards. we ate traditional easter pizza at double daves. we came home and played a few rounds of sequence and whoonu before calling it a late night. it was so much fun and we are going to miss you guys terribly!!

hope you all had a great resurrection sunday. He lives!!!

It was a wonderful week-end and we enjoyed it tremendously. It wasn't an extremely long visit, but amazingly rejuvniting. Of course we wished it could have been much longer but it was a great little booster. The trip is such an easy trip between here and Montgomery. Ha Ha...you'll be wanting to move farther away cause Meme will down everyother weekend! Well I know thats an exaggeration, but it will be far more often than now. But I'm just a tad sad (I know you can't believe that given my feelings on Dallas, but I wish I could have been able to come down there one more time. I'd really like to see your house and all the work you've done...but that's not gonna happen. Anyway...kiss the babies for us. Love, Mom
