isaiah 40: 28-31
"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

finally at peace
well, if any of you know me, you know i have a tendency to worry about things when i am uncertain of the outcome. especially those things that are almost within my grasp of control, but just far enough away that when i try to leap out to catch them i fall desparately into the abyss of infantile flailing. that is somewhat a good description of where i have been the last few months. once we decided to accept the ministry opportunity in montgomery i began to pull together all the things that MUST happen in order for this to work at all. at the very top of a long list of what if's was the two biggies. WHERE and HOW would we live if our house did not sell before we had to move and would we be able to afford a home in a school district that was safe for my children. don't get me wrong. i have been certain througout all (most) of this process that we made the right decision. however, it seemed that if all the stars didn't align just exactly right, we would sink miserably. its hard to explain to most of you. i mean, what's there to have to worry about. you pack up your stuff, you move and you start working somewhere else. well, i promise you, its not that simple. it will take almost $1800 a month to keep this house in rockwall up and running (mortgage, lawn care, water for the sprinklers, electricity to keep it cool during the summer, and gas) even when we are moved out of it. that is alot of money. plus we will have to pay for a place to live in montgomery once we get there. all i could see was us signing bankruptcy papers after about 4 months, tops. all i needed was a plan in case the worst case senario came true. i guess that makes me a realist, but i just needed to know that IF that happened, we had some sort of plan. it took a while for me to clearly communicate that to bret, but once i did, he got the picture. and even more assuring than that was he also had a plan. i'm so glad. i don't know why i couldn't concoct a plan. i guess i was too busy flailing, but i just did not see how it could work. now we have a plan and i am living with a peaceful easy feeling again. for some reason, i kept feeling like we had to sell our house before we moved for many different reasons--to get out from under the debt of it, to be able to qualify for a new loan so we could purchase a home in montgomery and cash in on these great interest rates and buyers market. i actually am seeing much wisdom in renting right now even if our house does sell before we move. it will give us time to know for sure where we want to purchase and make a wise choice for future resale value and schools. i would love for our house to sell as quickly as possible, it would be nice not to have to use the money we will have to use to keep it running on other things!!! but at least i know God has divided the red sea! the waters will not engulf us!please continue praying for us as we transition and that our house will sell quickly. there have been three viewings this week thus far. it is among the favorites of at least one family. that is encouraging. thank you all for lifting us up!

I am absolutely lifting you up AND freaking out by proxy. You don't even need to freak out. I am thinking of you three or four times a week and FREAKING OUT on your behalf. I keep telling myself to trust God, he knows what he is doing...plus it is not even my freakout. I love you that much, sister.
signed,
A fellow worrywart
