isaiah 40: 28-31

"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

retreat

the retreat was wonderful. it was 48 hours of full relaxation and going along with my own desires and pace. i loved it. i got xeveral pages done for my scrapbook. i did my fingernails and toenails and applied sunless tanning cream. i ate 5 meals that were thought up, cooked and cleaned up by someone else. but the fellowship was, by far, my favorite part of the retreat. i love being with the girls.
the downside to being gone all weekend is that id feels like i am going two weeks with out really seeing my husband. we rarely get to be together during the weeknights. the last i saw of him was last tuesday night. or at least i feels that way. he was doing graduate work all night last night after i got home. and tonight he had to do computer stuff after he got home from the elses meeting at 8:30 so, I MISS MY HUSBAND!!!!!!!!!
oh well, pull up my big girl panties, right?! maybe we will get to psend some time together this friday. probably nit since we are having JOhn chism here satuday and sunday, he will probably have to do graduate work all day friday. :-( i know i'm whining.
our church basement was completely submerged in water by 3-5 inches yester day. they are having to rip out carbet and temporarily move offices upstairs. this shoudl be interesting!!! i feel so sorry for those girls. they work so hard and do so much. i hope this doesn't make it too difficult for them.
well, i'm going to see if my husband has fallen asleep yet.
love you all,
summer
