well, as for the email defense from yesterday, it was not just because of you, sandy. over the retreat weekend 4 different people commented on the same thing. and i try to take it as a compliment except i started feeling paranoid that if you all see that, then what am i showing to my next door neighbor who i am trying to get to know. do i make people feel like it would be impossible to be a child of God, who do not know him? just because i'm not being completely transparent. i hope i would not be the reason to turn someone away or make them feel worse about themselves like they could never measure up. that's all i was--all i am saying. it's kinda like that song by stacy orico???, "don't look at me if you're looking for perfection, don't look at me i will only let you down. i'll do my best to point you in the right direction, but don't look at me, look at Him!" ok, case closed. thank you for your compliments everyone. i love you all!
bret took me on a lunch date tuesday. we were going to go to the macaroni grill, but it was packed and there was a wait. i had to pick the kids up by 1, so we went to chipotle. it was really good. kinda like a subway for burritos and such. it was great and we got back to get the kids on time. well, just five minutes late. i didn't do anything at all yesterday except the marathon wednesday night church event. it was great! back to the routine today, though.
my cousin, marlena, and her boyfriend are here in dallas this week visiting his grandparents. i am hoping to see them. she called when they got in to let me know they were here and see about getting together. i hope we can before it is time for them to go back.
today is the official two week countdown to our trip. we will leave two weeks form this morning. i am soo excited! i love you all. take care,
summer
isaiah 40: 28-31
"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
