the wheather has been absolutely beautiful here. we have played and worked outside almost everyday. my dad said you could definitely tell i was from the country because at the first sign of spring i had to stick something in the ground!!! i think he's right. i planted several flowering seeds a couple of weeks ago in my flwer bed and they are beginning to poke trought the ground. i am getting so excited. i also got some flowers to plant in pots, including a tomato plant. i hope it grows well. we have been working on our grass. hopefully we will have a good turf this year. it has been fertilized and sprayed for weeds. i also began trimming my bushes yesterday afternoon. they are looking really good.
while we have been working and playing outside, micah has been playing with emily. we are planning to have lunch with them tomorrow at chick fil a. they play really well together and i think more than anything, micah just really likes playing with a bigger kid, rather than a 3yr. old and 1 yr. old all the time. the down side is that emily doesn't really get along well with anna. you know, the baby sister can't come along. micah has been very good to anna, though. i've been proud of him.
chase is doing really well at potty training, for the most part. he kept his kennel dry all night last night!! that is a first. his little bladder is growing! on the other hand, anna has had an accident in her bed every night for the last 4 nights. i am trying to get rid of pull ups. she is three. and they are too expensive. i thought she was just getting them wet at night because she knew she could. now i think i may have trained her to pee at night!!! oh well, thank goodness for water resistent mattress covers. i have just been washing it it in the morning and letting it air dry in the garage till bed time when i remake her bed. we are trying new things to keep her dry at night. if you have any suggestions, please let me know. we are already doing all the obvious things. nothing to drink after 6, get her up by 6ish to go first thing in the morning. talking to her about staying dry and getting up to go at night if she needs to. we leave the bathroom light on so she can see if she needs to go. she is dry all day and would never think of having an accident during the daytime.
i am going on a scrapbooking retreat this weekend. i am so excited. it will be so much fun and a much needed "retreat" with the girls.
i am getting so excited about going in to see family in april. we leave april 6th and return the 10th. we will spend thursday night and friday with my family and saturday and sunday with bret's family. his aunt carolyn, who we never get to see, will be in. we are also planning on going to reidland sunday morning the 9th. i am so excited. i miss "home" this time of year for some reason more than any other time. i am glad we get to go in and be with our family.
hope you all are having a great day, see you all soon,
summer

"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

One pull-up a day is not so bad...money or time-that is always what it boils down to. Be patient with her, some kids take longer to get through the night. Even a reward system won't work if she isn't able to wake up and go pee. I can remember dreaming I was going to the bathroom and then waking up because I had.(I was probably 4 0r 5) BAD feeling. I know I still have those dreams and thankfully no matter how many times I "dream pee", my bladder knows the difference and wakes me up for a "real pee". Maybe that was too much information. Oh well, look forward to seeing you guys and I would definitely invest in pull-ups for the trip!!
Hi Summer
We are still having issues related to this with our 6 (!) year old. You have to know that it is usually NOT an issue of will, but a physiological issue. Our daughter is being treated for overactive bladder right now. Her body must learn control over the bladder contraction impulse. It has been MOST frustrating, but it is not her fault. And, yes, we've washed a LOT of sheets and blankets.
Hang in there,
Michael
