isaiah 40: 28-31

"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Good Bye Baby Days!!! :-(

today was the day. the day that i thought would never come and when it did, it made me cry like a baby. for the last 4 1/2 years someone in our family has nursed or had a bottle. there have been little to no breaks in between babies. today was the last day i will ever give a child of mine a bottle!! the reason i have not stopped giving rebekah bottles by now is not because of her, but me. I wasn't ready. i would have been completely happy to keep giving it to her to be honest. however, she is really beginning to like her sippy cup. so when i woke up this morning, i knew today was the day. i gave her one last bottle this afternoon and got pictures of it and held her close and rocked her for a long time. all the while, tears streamed down my face. with micah and anna, this day was welcomed with a sense of freedom. today was a bitter sweet feeling, knowing she is the last one. there will be no more. is everything going to be like that? the last time rebekah does something will be the last it is done in each stage. i am excited about future stages, but.... she is excited about growing up. she was walking alot today. she just needs me tolet go a little. letting go. its hard. as soon as you have them, you have to start letting go a little everyday. some days feel like you are letting go more than others. she is God's chld that he has trusted bret and me enough to take care of for a little while. thank you, God, for giving me the chance to let go of your children. its hard, but it is so worth it!

Bret has been sick all day today. i have quarantined him to the bedroom. i am afraid he has the flu. last night he had a very sore throat, body aches and chills. today he developed fever and an upset stomach to go along with the other. this is not good timing. JOhn Chisum is coming to prcc tomorrow for a training sesseion for the praise team and an instrumental worship service later on. he and bret are leading worship together on sunday morning. he's got to get well!!!!! please pray he will. and preferably that none of the rest of us get sick.

lots of things on my my mind spurring from other blogs. thank you all for posting! i love getting a glimpse into your thoughts and think it is funny how often we are thinking along the same lines!!! love you all!

I guess I never really thought about anything being the last time...but as I look at my big almost 5 year old girl, I miss some of the baby things that have long passed...mostly snuggling. I don't miss diapers or bottles. She still sucks her thumb, that has always been more of a pacifier than the bottle was.

I did realize as I am teaching bible hour this month for the little ones that she will move out to JAM in the fall and that makes me want to cry. My last child will not be in the preschool dept anymore. I've been in the preschool dept with one or more of my children for about 8 years...BOO HOO.
