isaiah 40: 28-31

"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Oh Anna, my sweet Anna

yesterday afternoon anna was doing something that was mild, but worth getting in trouble for. i can't even remember what it was now. anyway, she was sitting on the steps. after i got on to her, she said, "Mommy, God loves me, anyway." i said, "Yes He does, and so do i." i gave her a hug and she went off happily on to the next thing.

what a concept that is so hard to really believe. i pray she truly understands the depth of her statement as she grows up and that she never forgets it.

i find myself stuggling all the time with discipline. i've been trained, CONSISTENCY, CONSISTENCY, CONSISTENCY. and i believe that is important. i try very hard to be consistent. but where does grace come in when teaching little ones? i believe God directed me to name anna "grace" that name for a reason. she is the child who is the recipient of most grace. everytime i yell out "ANNA GRACE" i am reminded to be graceful. there is such a fine line between appropriate discipline and too much. i constantly feeling like i am on one side or the other. very rarely do i feel like i get it just right with her. i tell people, Anna is the reason i sleep well at night. i am so worn out form the day that, on some days, if there were even five more minutes left in the day, i'm not sure i'd make it. exhaustion and feelings of faillure make me weary from time to time. but, she is so sparkly and effervescent, that she rejuvenates me even through all the daily battles. she says some of the most profound things. (i guess if you talk nonstop from morning till night, something profound is bound to come out!!) she reminds me constantly of the grace God has had to give me and how exhausted i must have made hime from tome to time in my life. oh Anna, my sweet anna.

I'm smiling at this post because I almost named Lilly, Lilly Grace and she is the recipient of the most grace in our household. I have the same thoughts-am I too hard on her or too soft. When there is so much checking of the boundaries and general liveliness, sometimes it is hard to know.

These *sparkly* children keep our prayers lives active!!
