we had a great weekend. bret was gone to corpus christi for the district barbershop competition in which they placed second!! we are very proud. it was kinda nice having a weekend to stay at home and do things around here. friday night the kids and i went to the lakepointe fall festival. we met up with some people from micah's soccer team. the kids had a blast. they road rides, jumped on jump houses, had faces painted, and had balloon sword fights. we ended the event by going around and playing games for candy. we ran into some people from our church there. it was lots of fun. we did not leave without some authentic funnel cake. it was their first experience and i think they were amazed! we came home and went to bed. on saturday morning it was cold and quiet in the house. the two big kids woke up and came downstairs to get in bed with me. we snuggled for a while but had to jump to get ready for micah's 9 am soccer game. after the game we ran home to meet someone who was going to pick up our dryer to give away. then we took sam, ryan and lesli's dog, who we had be keeping for a week, back home to meet his new little sister, sydney kate. while we were there, micah developed a stomach ache. we left and came back home. he drank some sprite and took a nap and felt fine. it was a scare none the less. (him being near sydney, that is) after naps and micah feeling better, we went to the rockwall pumpkin patch. we took some pictures and made a walmart stop for diapers and supplies for church. we came home and ate hotdogs and watched halloween shows and movies i had recorded on tivo. its the great pumpkin charlie brown was the winner among the little people!! they showered and went to bed by 8:30 which was really 7:30, so i had a couple hours to myself to fold laundry, make two halloween costumes and watch movies. it was so nice. to bed by 11 which was really 10 and i had a full night's sleep!! i got up around 6:15 to get ready for church. and we left by 7:20.we went to church and came straight home. we ate lunch at home and watched more halloween movies while i finished the other two costumes, but not before my sewing machine decided to rebel. i called my mom to coach me through rethreading the bobbin thread under the machine. amazingly she did and i did!! i was able to finish all the cosumes and feel like a seamstress even though i am not. bret got home from corpus christi in time to get ready for the praise team halloween party. we went as the flinstsones. the party was great and we came home and rested well last night. today is a relaxing day for me. hope you all enjoy the pictures of our weekend!
