well, i woke up about every 20 minutes all night long anxious about the day, but getting a little excited for micah. finally my daddy called about 6:30 to wish micah a good first day of school. we weren't quite up yet, so i asked if it would be ok if we called him back in about an hour. i went ahead and got up and got dressed and made pancakes for breakfast. i got all of his things together and his lunch ready. i went up and woke him up at 7. just before he woke up i started the misty eyed tears i would be holding back until i got home from dropping him off. he woke up and stretched and climbed up in my lap. i asked him if he knew what day it was and he said..."monday!" "yes, but what happens today?" "i go to school," he says. he was so ready!!! he got up and got dressed. he looked so handsome. then, we got anna and bekah dressed and went downstairs to eat breakfast. anna prayed for brother's first day of school, (and for her to be big enough to take the Lord's Supper! hehehe!) we ate, bret got dressed, everyone brushed their teeth and we took pictures. papaw called back at 7:35 and wished micah good luck on his first day of school. and by 7:40 we were off! we walked down to the school. it was cute to see everyone coming out of their front doors to walk to school. bret and micah walked together hand in hand and that's when i almost lost it. it took everything to hold the tears back then. we got to school, dropped off his things in his classroom and met his teacher and class in the cafeteria. we all went to his classroom together and the teacher gave us some information and then we....left. it was very anticlimactic for such a momment. micah waved by and had a HUGE smile on his face as i peaked through the window as we left. i am happy for him. i am doing much better with it today and i really like his teacher much better. i did come home and cry briefly and bret gently made fun.
now its just the girls at home during the day and though we miss micah, we are very excited about just being the girls! hope you all have a great day. love you all,
summer
isaiah 40: 28-31
"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Oh Summer, you have me misty eyed! He looks so happy, though. Looks like a great first day.
I see manicures and pedicures in your future...well you know, the home kind!!
Reading through this post sounds so much like mine last year when Gracie went to Kindergarten. I even have a picture of her & her daddy walking hand in hand down the street! (August 2005).
