we spent every last day of this week having fun since it was micah's last week at home before kindergarten began. monday we stayed in our pajamas all day and played games and ate fun things. we watched a movie before bedtime and stayed up a little late. tuesday we got up and got micah's hair cut, went to buy him an insulated lunchbox, and went to the library one last time. he had soccer evaluations that afternoon and did much better that he did in the spring. wednesday we went swimming and rested before going to church. thursday we went to the park and played in the fountains (these are fountains designed for children to play in and very neat!!!) and had a picnic lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, grapes, and a cookie with waters to drink. they all had so much fun. friday, bret was home with us and we went to chuck e cheese with some coupons i had and a bunch of tokens i had been saving for one special day. the kids had a blast. we came home to rest for a bit. FINALLY, the time had arrived. meet the teacher was from 4-6. we walked down to the school and looked at the list posted outside of the school. micah's new teacher is.......drumroll please........Mrs. Gardener. he is in room mumber 116. we walked in (he began to act a little nervous for a little boy who was so ready!!) and went to his classroom. there were several children and their parents already there. we waited for a chance to meet her and looked all aroung the room and found his place to sit. his name was already labeled on the table where he would be sitting .......NEXT TO A GIRL!!! he was a bit dissappointed about that. there is a boy on his other side, however. that seemed to make things a little better. the classroom was very well layed out and organizied which i liked, but i was not hugely impressed with the teacher and i was hoping to be. she already seemed very tired and overwhelmed. she was older and not very happy looking. i know i can't let the first impression be my last, and i promise to give her more. i know that she has already beenworking alot getting everything ready and in services and all, so i am giving her the benefit of the doubt that it had just been a very long week. we have been praying for her and all the students in his class room all summer. i hope it goes well! i PRAY it goes well. well, all that to say---i'm scared. this is the first time i have not been in control of the influences in his life. i thought i was way more prepared than this. i got a sick feeling all over while we were there. i thought i was more ready than i am. somebody give me some help here. i got to get better. this thing is starting monday whether i'm ready or not! love ya'll,
summer
isaiah 40: 28-31
"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
