this is how it goes for me-nothing in forever and then i write a book!! i have extra time tonight, because bekah was sick and we couldn't go to church. bret is staying late at church tonight so he can catch up since he stayed home with bekah today and took her to the doctor.
thoughts i've been pondering:
i had an appointment at Faulkner University yesterday since i was off. i took unofficial copies of my transcipts to see what it would take to finish my Bible degree there. they really don't know the answer. i have to register first and have offiiciaal transcripts sent to them so they can process that. the thing is, i don't want to have to pay the $75 application fee if i'm not going to end up going there anyway. the second down side is tht they do not offer ANY online or night classes in the upper level bible degrees. they do not offer online or night classes for the education degree, either. so in order to finish with them i would have to be available during the day to take classes. i'm not sure i can afford to go to school without some income coming in.
another frustrating thing i realized after receiving my transcripts is that i actually only have 25 hours in bible. many of the classes i took were only for one hour credit. so it could take about 50 hours to complete the bible degree and about the same to complete the education degree even though i have 103 hours and a 3.5 gpa. it takes approximately 132 hours to have enough hours to graduate, but i will most likely end up with aobut 150-160!!! if only going back to school were as easy as saying this is what i need and this is when i can come....i could so do it then. but, unfortunately, it is not.
i had decided that what i would really love to do with my life is teach bible--nameley girls bible at a place like ACA. that is a HUGE thing, because i have not known the answer to that question EVER. i think if i were closer to actually having my degree, it could possibly happen. but without it...it cannot. and i have no idea how i'm going to be able to get the degree i need. my husband has a great idea. i finish my degree as quick as i can in whatever is quick and then we go together to get our masters in bible at lipscomb.
i would also love to not have to work, but i will have to have some means of putting our kids in private school once they reach middle shcool here in montgomery. there are absolutley no safe and acceptable middleschool or highschool chioces in the area. and since homeschooling is not an option with my husband, we have to be prepared for private school. that is why working at ACA is so appealing--other than the fact that i think it is a really great place. i've got no answers..only questions.
sorry for the hopeless feel to this post. i'm actually not terribly worried, but i will have to make some decisions sooner than later and i really don't know what to do at the momment.
isaiah 40: 28-31
"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Those are hard questions. School and work are difficult to juggle with young children. My only word to share is "longterm". Take a long term view and don't feel like you have to "arrive" in five years.
