well, i am wanting to redecorate my bedroom. for the first 8 years of our marriage it has been burgany, cream, and purple--very regal and rich looking. it is pretty but i am ready for a change. i want a little more contemporary and informal look. i am thinking about going with a duvet. for some reason baby blue and chocolate brown are what seems to be standing out to me, but i haven't found anything i like at any of the stores. i could have something made, but i have no clue how much something custom made would cost. i think i could make my own duvet, throw pillows and even my curtains. i would just have ot have help with shams and the duvet closure. what do you all think?
on another note, pottytraining is going fairly well. since i have my hands so full with my three, i decided i wasn't going to officially worry with training anna. we would just let her go at her own pace (for now). i will ask her fairly regulary, (at least once daily), but i am not necessarily interested in making it happen asap. since i've stopped trying to make her, she has been coming to me (with no clothes on) asking to go potty. i always give her a small handful of mini m&M's when she goes. one day she and micah had just finished pottying. (we do everything together around here!) when i gave anna her m&m's micah knew he did not get m&m's for going to the potty since he was a big boy, so he asked(in a rather convincing manner) "mommy can i have some m&m's because i love you?" of course he got m&m's and i told him that that was a perfectly good reason for getting m&m's. now that he knows the trick, we are handing out m&m's everytime anna goes to potty and micah loves me! what could i say? no? i don't think so. guess i'll just be buying some more m&m's.
i've been thinking about writing a book from the daily happenings of our family life. sort of taking my blogging and writing with a bit more purpose. the title being something like "that's the story of, that's the glory of love," something implying music. sort of a fictionalized story of us. i would change the names of everyone involved to protect the innocent (and sometimes guilty!) since anna would be heavily involved, it would have all elements needed-- drama, humor, mystery-- like where is the remote control? ( we lost our remote control to our tivo unit tuesday and have cleaned and turned this place upside down and still no remote. the only thing we can guess is that anna threw it away and it went out with thursday's trash. who knows.) anyway, that would mean i have to start capitalizing and i'm not sure i want to have to give something that much committment. we'll see. we are having a wonderfully lazy, rainy memorial day weekend. hope you are too!
love to you all,
summer
isaiah 40: 28-31
"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
