bullet point catch up

so much has een going on that i think i will start with the present and work my way backwards!

• consignment sale is this weekend which means my stuff has to be turned in by noon on thursday. i've got a long way to go. just micah's old clothes and bekahs' old clothes. its still more than i have time for, but hopefully i'll get it done. i have to so i have money to buy anna new clothes!
• the church basement flooded again. this time it was not a church error. the construction crew failed to cover a drain correctly. so it busted through the baement. five inches of muddy water later, they were flooded. looks liekit will be a much faster fix this time!
• saturday was micah and anna's first soccer game for the fall season. they were so cute. anna was made to be a soccer player with so much energy and gusto. micah's team is now in the age group that plays positions. micah was right wing. he almost got a goal!
• i laid all of anna's sccer gear out on her dresser the night before the dgame so we would know right where everything was and be ready to go easliy. somehow one of the shin guards came up missing and we were all searching the house frantically for it. after 4o minutes of looking and being ten minutes late for the game it was found in our dresser downstairs on our room??!!! who knows!
• micah was chosen to be the first star sutdent of the week last weekedn and he got to bring the class stuffed frog home with him to join us in everything we did. he went with us to double daves pizza friday night and to the rockwall heath high school football game aterwards. he went with us on errands staruday and to church on sunday. we got great pictures and mad a really cool poster for micha to hag in his classroom.
• micah read his first chapter book all the way through in about two hours. lucy on the loose was the name of the book. it was 11 chapters long and he was determinied to read it in one sitting. he got that and two other books from the book fair at school.
• bret went to school with micah and helped on his class on friday. i was glad he did it but a little sad that i can't do it anymore since i am working. maybe every now and then i can take a day off to help in his class.
• bret met me for a friday lunch date during my lunch hour. it was nice having a built in date time and babysitting to do so. i look forward to many more if them to come.
• soccer practice on thursdays is a bit crazy because both kids practice at the same tiem. luckily theya re at the same location, just different fields. it kinda makes it nice since it only take one hour instead of two. i just go to one for the first half and the other for the second half.
• afterward was micah's open house at school. ms hutchings only had wonderful things to say about micah like he's a real leader and a very good boy. i knoew that already, though!
• wednesday was praise team rehearsal and then time to put activity supplies together for sunday school curriculum. it was a little crazy since this was the first week of the new school year. it got done, but i was out at target at ten p.m. getting my supplies. hopefully wednesdays won't have to be that long every week.
• tuesday was the first day of school for the girsl and i at our preschool. they like it and i do too. my job is kinda exhausting because i do music and movement rotating every class through every fifteen minutes throughout the day. anna is in primer clas which is sorta like a kindergarten prep class. she really likes and feels so big in there. she has a lot of learning to do about what is ok to do at home and what is not ok to do in class. bless her heart!
• labor day we had our neighbors and new friends (also anna's soccer coach) over for grilled burgers. it was fun but we were all tired.
• sunday we painted anna's room. it was a bear because we decided to take down an old border. had we known aheaad oftime how difficult it would be, we would have just left it. anyway, her room is beautifully pepto pink now and she loves it.
• i painted bekah's room green on saturday while bret was in sanantonio rehearsing with his new quartet.
• bret's new quartet up to visit the vm and spent the weekend with us. that's was ...ok. at least it was a kick in my rear to get my house clean!
• the rest of that week was a bit of a difficult time. we spent the week having training and work days at the preschool. on tuesday i found out some frustrating news. i was uninformed avbout the policy of fulltime staff and their children's tuition to school. teachers get half tuition. as a sub and suna nd fun teacher, i got free tuition. so when i was making the decition to work five days a week i thought i would be making about $380more than i will be makiningsince i will now be paying $380 a month in tuition.......oh well, it was a difficult couple of days, but i decided to stick with it anyway. tough stuff....
• we went to florida because of the grace of a good friend who offered their family condo to us. it was AWESOME...we had a great time. we played, we rested, we ate...goood...we went on a boat ride, anna got her ears peirced and micah got two hermit crabs. i learned to surf on the boogy board with bret. micah learned to do flips under water and annw learned to swim with her face in the water.! it was so what we needed.

well, that all for now. the pictures are to come, but bret downloaded the to his computer at work and erased them from the camera, so they are only on his computer whaich was in the flod and it power suppy is dead. there are absolutley no mac power ables to be found in the metro plex or surrounding areas. so when you get pictures...i don't know. hopefully soon.
