because i had two, count them, one, two, dates with my husband this weekend. we had so much fun. friday night we went to mi cocina's and a chris tomblin/matt redman concert with some friends. it was AMAZING!!! thanks to our friends to john and crysty who kept the kids for us. they pulled through at the last minute and we were SO GRATEFUL!
the concert was the how great is our God tour. they also had a guy named louis giglio(sp?) that is the pastor of the norhtpoint church in atlanta. he spoke midway through the concert. it was no ordinary sermon. it was the best case for christ i have ever heard. i wish i could have it on my ipod to hear over and over and let others hear. but, the highlight of the night for me was when matt redman performed "you never let go." this is may FAVORITE song at the moment and i was singing to the top of my lungs. actually, everyone was jamming pretty hard to that song. it is just that kind of song--so powerful. it reminds me of my favorite hymn, "oh love that will not let me go" by fanny crosby. same sentiment only modernized. we had an amazing time and we even stopped by sonic on the way home for a treat. good times!!
saturday night was project valentine at our church where the youth group and their parents host an evening of babysitting for parents with young children. it was so nice. bret and i went out to dinner and then furniture shopping. we had a blast. no, we are not really looking to buy anything, though we would really love to replace the chairs in our living room that are falling apart. we just thought that it would be something fun to do that you can't do very easily with children. we didn't have enough time for dinner and a movie so we just did some shopping. it was a lot of fun. i wanted to get a picture of us each night, but the evenings came and went went with out a photo opportunity. oh well, i will treasure the nights in my heart. they were wonderful.
so the colts finally got their superbowl win. as a former tennessean, i was so proud of peyton's accomplishment. bret and i left the super bowl party just before the last 5 minutes of the game were played so we could get micah home and in bed for school the next day. we both really enjoyed hearing the post game show on the radio. the colts owner and coach gave all glory to God and thanked Him publicly for using a christian team to win it all. it had been said that a good guy couldn't do it, but they proved that wrong. it was a neat moment.
i hope you all have a really great day. we will enjoy a typical texas winter day today and i am really looking forward to it. low 30/high 65. that's a great day! love you all,
summer

"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

I cheered with the colts too! What a testimony!
I am glad you had an awesome date weekend!!
Look at my blog. I didn't see your blog before I posted mine and we said almost the same things. Great minds think alike, I guess. Love you sweetie. I loved our weekend together. Of she didn't mention how hot she looked in her ourfit Saturday night. I mean WOW!
Hey, we had a blast with your kids both nights! No offense to any kid we were with but it is safe to say we won't be having kids for at least another 2 years by our time, of course God always likes to suprise us so you never know.
But I love spending time with you family, they are my absolute favorite kids to be with! I just hope they haven't set the standard too high for when I do have kids. :)
Oh, and I forgot to ask what is with the fish bowl that doesn't have a fish in it. Have you not told the kids? Or was there a fish in there?
