isaiah 40: 28-31

"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

very busy but bored

how is it that one can be so busy but bored? my responsibilities seem to be ever increasing, but i am usually bored. along with my stay at home duties of laundry, cooking, cleaning and errand running, i also am co-teaching the middle school class on sunday mornings with Crysty. that means i am in class every sunday but teach every other sunday. i am preschool activity supply coordinator for our children's ministry, which means i decide which activities each class will do from the curriculum and gather, buy, cut out and prepare before each sunday. i just recently became the director of hospitality on the pta board. i am responsible for all the fun events that the pta hosts at school like donuts with dad, muffins with mom, door prizes and greeting for each pta night at school. i am still on the praise team and bret has asked me to become a fulltime soprano. i have agreed , but am a little nervous because it is very hard to watch two kiddos during a worship service and sing on the praise team at the same time. i am the meal coordinator for class at church. i mainly plan, recruit and execute meals for the newfriends meals that we host every other month. we have soccer practice every thursday night and games every saturday. so why am i bored??? maybe i feel isolated. i don't see adults except for wednesday nights, thrusday afternoons, and sundays--with the exception of bret at night and on the weekends. i found out this morning that i spend about 1100 minutes a month on the phone and about 5oo minutes a month on the cell phone!!!! granted, when we moved to texas, i made bret promise we would get a phone plan that would allow us to call family at any time of the day and for how ever olong we wanted to talk to help minimize the distance between us. he is very understanding about it all. in fact he is very supportive of me talking to family and friends that much. maybe he figures at least that way i won't have to talk that much to him!!! hehehe:-)
any way are any of you busy people bored too? or am i a strange cookie? just wondering.

I know the language you speak!! Like Nancy, I think it is loneliness. Lots of stuff to fill the day but a lack of meaningful interactions. Of course interactions with our children are meaningful and wonderful-but sometimes girl's night out time is what we need. I have made sure to have it at least once a month and try for it more often than that!!

Soon, I am going to get back to date nights as well! If I can get Erik to watch the kids...heehee just kidding!

Also, when I am most lonely, I know it is God I am longing for. He made us with that Godspace that only he can fill.
