seems like i am playing catch up all the time. the list of what i need to be doing right now is long...put away clothes...reboot laundry...dig out from under the mess upstairs...load the dishwasher...plan for sunday's activity supplies. oh the list could go on and on. but i don't feel good and haven't felt very well since last thursday.
RECAP OF WEEK
thursday: i was sick as a dog and did not go to work. i had upset stomach, sore throat, headache, fever, chills--you get the picture. but what always makes matters worse is being a sick mommy having to remain concious while you wonder what your children are destroying out there unattended. thankfully, they did not destroy too much :-). i woke up around 3 am and felt considerably better, but did not have to work friday since they went ahead and got a sup for me. that was a relief!
friday: still had a very sore throat and headache, but all in all it was a fun day. bret had a wedding that night and the next day, but he did his responsibilities and came straight home.
saturday: i woke early--about an hour before the rest of my crew--and cleaned alot! i don't think that has ever happened before. usually once they hear people moving around they are up. thus, it never pays off to get up early. however, this once, it did. i enjoyed the quiet new day to myself. i opened windows and accomplished more than usual. we worked in the yard for a while and then headed to micah's last soccer game of the season. i sent the boys on so he would arrive in time and the girls and i followed after i closed all the windows and such. while i was enroute to the game, micah scored TWO goals. he has only score once before so i was so upset to have missed it. afterward, the team met at the local park for a team party. the kids all had a blast and it was a beautiful day. we have really enjoyed getting to know our friends in rockwall. we really love it out here!! bret did the wedding and we stayed home and cleaned a little more.
sunday: oh--alot happened sunday. so much actually. worship, we stayed in all day and had won by one that night. we were completely and utterly exhausted from the day.
monday: was called in to sub. i was dragging, still struggling with sore throat and headache. micah's soccer awards ceremony was held at a water park from 5-8. it was really too cold for anyone to be getting in the water, but especially those recovering from being sick. all in all, it was fun and we were exhausted afterward. however, not too exhausted to watch the 24 season finale. it was good...i won't give it away.
tuesday: we wake to bret feeling similar symptoms as i had felt only a few days before. lucky for him, i had to work, which meant me and the kids would be gone all day and allow him some much needed quiet rest time (much different from my experience, unfortunately). i ran to the grocery on my lunch break because we were out of all things lunch material! we came home from school and picked micah up from school. since then i've been pretty useless. i am coughing my head off and still have a sore throat and headaches. but not too bad to watch my american idol----it feels so up in the air, but i think it will probably be jordin. i am so torn i can't vote!! i love me some blake lewis, but.....we'll see tomorrow night. i know one thing for sure. i am going to miss looking forward to idol each week till next season begins again!!!
two other notable things. i forgot to update you all about our painting. we finished the living room. it is beautiful. we actually finished a couple of weeks ago. when we get our new chair in in a week or so i will post pictures of the finished product!!
also, my sister called me this afternoon to tell us she had accidently located a fully working copy of my wedding video! about five years ago our only copy was ruined by a faulty vcr. i was sick. i thought it was gone forever. this is definitely the most wonder suprise i've had in a while. needless to say we are going to make MANY COPIES before we do anything else with it.
super bowl 45 in arlington---this news comes out of nashville today???!!!! 2011 4 years away.

Sorry to hear you have been ill - no fun! The good news on the sleeping front: while babies, toddlers and preschoolers always seem to wake with the chirp of the first morning bird, middle-schoolers, high-schoolers & college kids must be dragged out of bed with threats of wet-noodle beatings and video-game groundings. Somehow it all changes! lol!
