isaiah 40: 28-31

"do you not know? have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. he will not tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumle and fall; but hose who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Easter weekend

this is always one of my favorite weekends of the year. spring is in full force and there are flowers budding and blooming everywhere by then. this weekend was probably my best easter weekend yet. friday was really just a regular day. bret ended up working all day from 7am till 8pm because the copy machine was broken and the repair man could not get out to fix it until frday. the kids and i were going to go with him and just make it a day of watching movies and hanging out while he made copies of the bulletin, but we just stayed at home to give him some peace and quiet and time to get graduate work done. we went up ther around 5 and had pizza with him and the kids ran around and watch a movie while he taught me a little more about ebay. it was nice, though i'm sure tedious for him. saturday we went to the dallas arboretum with our small group. tricia had gotten sick the night beofre so she and scott couldn't make it. it was a lot of fun. we missed all the tulips so it was not quite as beautiful as it was the last two springs we got to see it. we were able to get a few good pictures from our trip out there. it was somewhat stressful for me since i was hoping t get a good family portrait and my kids and camera were not willing to cooperate. oh well. it was beautiful! we ate at a place called barbec for luch that was awesome. it was home cooking food and sooooo good. on our way home we spotted a billow of smoke coming from really far away and decided to see where it was. it was about 10-15 miles down the road in a small town called terrell. (great name for a town, i know:-) ) anyway, we found it. it was a chemical plant that had cought on fire. smart, i know. here we are, tracking afire and it leads us right into a chemicalplant about to explode. we made it out safe after having ice cream in waffel cones, of course.!!! hehehehe.
we cam home and vegged after that. then we began to make our preparations for sunday morning. we had to leave by 7 on sunday morning. it was a bit crazy, but we made it. both wordhip services were AMAZING. the second was especially powerful because there were even more people and energy in the service and there were thhree baptisms including a father and his son and a little girl who has been through a particularly hard year with her parents splitting up. it was so emotional. we sang "you were there" presentationally and it was so good. we awere afraid but it came off great. we cam home after it was all said and done and had lunch with ryan and lesli and scott and tricia and had great conversation afterwards for a long time. we discovered that lesli is having a girl by using the quarter trick. it was very pronounced, so i am going with it. girl it is!!! i'm going ahead and buying pink. bret and i had an awesome evening last night just chillin and watch a movie, "walk the line." it was pretty good. great weekend and looking forward to the week.
love you all,
summer
